CORDS, in collaboration with Stromme Foundation, conducted an important activity to support youth who graduated from Bonga and TVET programmes in Longido and Ngorongoro Districts.
A total of 80 youth were supported with start-up kits enable them to apply the skills they acquired through training, establish their own income-generating activities, increase their income, and ultimately improve their economic well-being and support their families.
The equipment distributed included:
20 sewing machines, benefiting 28 youth;
Salon equipments, benefiting 9 youth;
Plumbing equipment, benefiting 3 youth;
Construction equipments, benefiting 3 youth;
Cooking equipments, benefiting 12 youth; and
50 goats, benefiting 25 young people.
The distribution of these start-up kits is intended to strengthen youth transition from skills development to self-employment and sustainable livelihoods. By providing them with the necessary tools and resources, the initiative seeks to enable the beneficiaries to put their acquired skills into practice, generate income, become more economically self-reliant, and contribute to the well-being of their families.
The handover ceremony was attended by various government leaders and local authorities at the district, ward, and village levels, who joined CORDS in witnessing and supporting this important milestone in the lives of the young beneficiaries.
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of CORDS and Stromme Foundation to empowering youth with practical skills, productive assets, and opportunities that can contribute to sustainable livelihoods, stronger, and more resilient communities.
